Celebrate Life - A Mother's Message To Her Children
83Celebrating 100 Hub Articles on HubPages!
To celebrate writing my 100th Hub Article on HubPages, I thought that I would do something quite different to what I would normally write about.
This is a celebration of my newfound vocation as a part-time Hub Article Author/Writer.
This is also a celebration of life and it is through writing this particular celebratory hub article that I have found a means for me as a mother to be able to write down a few heartfelt messages to my three children in the hope that they will read it someday and hopefully (fingers crossed) will heed my motherly advice as they progress forward on their own life's journey.
A friend emailed me a YouTube link to a Rick Springfield song called "Celebrate Youth" that he released in the mid-80's (back in the days when I was a love-struck teenager) and even before I clicked on that link, I was belting out the lyrics to the song as I was such a Rick Springfield fan (you could say that I still am).
Even before the video had a chance to play I was visualising the video, trying to jog an otherwise 'brain-fogged' memory and I could see him in a children's playground dressed all in black wearing a long black coat and he had a red tie or scarf or badge or flower, something red on him which really stood out as the rest of the surroundings was shot in black and white.
Okay, it is time to admit that as a love-struck teenager I would have watched and sung that song at least a gawdzillion times when it was released so no wonder I had such great memory recall!
Over the next week or so I found myself singing the words to this song over and over again..
It is this song (thanks Rick) that is the real inspiration behind me writing this extra special hub article, celebrating youth and celebrating life. The song's lyrics are something to behold.
Check out the video of Rick Springfield's Celebrate Youth for yourself down below. EDIT: The YouTube video has had the embed feature disabled so I am unable to get it to play from this hubpage (bummer!!!) so if you are really interested in checking it out then search for Rick Springfield Celebrate Youth in the Youtube search box and look for a B&W picture of Rick wearing a red scarf.
I dedicate my 100th Hub Article to three rather special individuals who give me reason to Celebrate Youth and Celebrate Life everyday - my son and my two daughters!
A Mother's Message To Her Children - Celebrate Youth!
To My Three Children,
I hope that you will make the time to read this particular hub article of mine and take note of what your mum has to say to all of you.
All I ask from you three is that you will do your very best to heed my advice.
Love Always, Mum.
Celebrate Life - You only get one chance at life so do not ever take it for granted.
A person will get only what they seek so choose want you want carefully.
Know what it is that you like and what it is that you do not like.
Be critical about what you can do well and what you cannot do well.
Choose a career or lifestyle that truly interests you and work hard to make it a success but also remember to have fun in what you do.
Be honest with yourself and with other people and help yourself and others if and when you can.
Only depend on yourself to make your life easy and/or happy not others and especially do not let yourself become dependant on others.
Be strong and decisive but remain sensitive to yours and other people's feelings and emotions.
Regard your family and the idea of family as the basis for your security, support and love.
Understand who it is that you are and what it is that you want to get out of your life before sharing that life with someone else.
When you are ready to enter into a relationship with someone else make sure that the person is worthy of everything that you are physically and mentally.
Strive to achieve all that you want and find happiness in everything that you do.
Do not forget that when things go wrong that you have permission to laugh at your mistakes and in doing so you will learn from them.
Love with your entire being and love with an uninhibited soul. Be TRUE to yourself.
Do not be afraid to love someone totally and completely because love is the most fulfilling and beautiful feeling in the world.
Do not be afraid that you will get hurt or that the person you love will not love you because there is a risk in everything that you do and the rewards are never so great as what love can bring you.
Some people will be your friend because of whom you know, or because of your position, or because of the way you look, or because of your possessions but the only real friends are the people who will be your friends because they like you for how you are on the inside so try to choose your friends carefully and make sure that they are worthy of you.
I hope that you will have as much confidence in yourself as I have in you.
Never be afraid to have dreams and always try to make your dreams a reality.
The freer you are with your emotions and feelings the more you will be able to give and receive love.
Just remember that when you need someone to talk to I hope you will talk to me and when you need someone to laugh with I hope you will laugh with me and when you need someone to advise you I hope you will ask me and when you need someone to help you I hope that you will let me help you.
Make a triumph of every aspect of your life.
Put in the effort and reap the rewards.
Life will throw you curve-balls from time to time, deal with it and get on with living.
Finally, just remember that on those odd times when you think that you do not like or even possibly hate your mother, that your mother will always love you (mum also has times when you are not 'flavour of the month' with her either).

I would love to embrace you for the wisdom you shared. Thank you Mother.
Children are like the creepers and small plants whose branches i.e.mind and heart are soft grasping to what ever around good or bad. So an extra care need to be taken and such and good advice on Hubpages is really appreciatory. My hats off to the Mother in you.
This is a great hub, and a beautiful way to celebrate your 100th. I hope with you that your children heed your advice and fulfill their life's purpose. Good writer, good mom.

UrsulaRose, what a lovely name and what a lovely mum, I too have three children who (unfortunately neglect me. I guess I must have done something wrong.
